Go.cam: Revolutionizing Age Verification for Adult Websites
MARSEILLE, France — Arcom (Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique) has mandated adult websites to implement an age verification system to protect minors. Go.cam offers a free, open-source age verification solution designed to help adult websites comply with these new regulations. As of January 11, these rules require platforms accessible via French IP addresses to integrate an age verification system that ensures double anonymity, preserving user privacy.
Go.cam has already received certifications from two major European authorities:
- KJM (Kommission für Jugendmedienschutz) in Germany, which specializes in protecting minors in media.
- ACC Scheme (Age Check Certification Scheme) in the UK, an organization accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).
Secure Age Verification Methods
Go.cam provides three secure methods for age verification:
1. Facial recognition using the user's device.
2. Verification of ID documents (national ID, passport, or driver's license).
3. Credit card verification.
Open-Source and Free
As an open-source solution licensed under AGPL, Go.cam is available for free on GitHub. Websites can host it directly without sharing private data while maintaining their certifications.
